Dudjom Tersar – Throma Nagmo Empowerment & Teachings
We are deeply honored to announce that the Venerable Khenpo Chagkhung Tsewang Rinpoche will bestow the rare and profound Dudjom Tersar Throma Nagmo Empowerment and Teachings in Melbourne. Disciples have long requested and devotedly practiced this lineage. In response, Rinpoche will now kindly bestow this rare empowerment.
Lineage of the Dudjom Tersar Chöd
Khenpo Chagkhung Tsewang Rinpoche is the nephew of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche and a son of the Yanpa Chagkhung family, the blood family lineage of Dudjom Lingpa (1835–1904).
Rinpoche's Message
Even though everyone's time was limited, they still joined every class. I am touched by their trust in me, and by their deep respect for His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche and the Great Perfection lineage. Yesterday, two disciples of His Holiness joined the Tsok offering and sang a song they had once sung more than twenty-five years ago before His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok. It reminded me of the deep roots of our lineage, and of His Holiness' joy whenever he heard these songs. It felt like a very auspicious sign that the teachings will continue and flourish without obstacles.
I am deeply grateful for this month in Sydney, and for everyone who supported and volunteered. I will return whenever I can. It is both my joy and my responsibility to transmit my Guru's teachings. I promise to do my best until my last breath — even if tomorrow were my final day, I would still continue teaching you.
Completion of the Troma Empowerment
I am deeply grateful for the very successful completion of the Troma empowerment. I have been preparing myself for this for three years, and now it has finally been accomplished. I have seen many people practice Dudjom Chöd Troma, but this is a very real and profound practice that truly requires proper empowerment, inner transformation, and correct teaching. I requested this empowerment from the late Dudjom Yangsi, Sangye Pema Shepa, but unfortunately, due to a lack of merit on the part of sentient beings, Rinpoche had already passed away. However, during his lifetime, Rinpoche gave me clear permission and advised me to first engage in long-term personal practice before offering the empowerment to others.
For the past three years, I quietly devoted myself to practice and preparation without public display. After careful reflection, I made the decision to offer this empowerment publicly. More than one hundred people participated, and I feel deep joy that, on this occasion, I was able to make a small but sincere offering to the Dudjom lineage.
I sincerely appreciate all those who supported me—directly and indirectly, visibly and invisibly. I am especially grateful to the volunteers and directors whose dedication made this event possible. I also wish to remember and thank those who believed in me and trusted me unconditionally.
An Unbreakable Bond
Times may change and circumstances may shift, but please remember this: even if the sky were to fall and the earth were to collapse, my heart and commitment toward you will never change. Whether you go far away or remain quietly in the background, our connection endures. We are already bonded by karma, walking this path together as spiritual companions, moving toward enlightenment.
Once we have formed the connection of teacher and students, we can never truly be separated. Even if, outwardly, we appear physically apart, karmically we remain inseparable—not only in this life, but life after life. The relationship between Guru and disciples is like a flower and its fragrance: even when the flower is no longer visible, its fragrance naturally remains.
I have faced many challenges in the past, and there may be more challenges in the future, but I have never given up, and I will never give up. This body is no longer mine alone; it is offered in service to you and to the Dharma. As long as there is consciousness and the ability to move, I will continue to act for your benefit. Even when the body becomes weak, and even when the mind eventually leaves this body, my commitment does not end. I have no personal freedom apart from this path; my life is dedicated to the Guru, the lineage, and the benefit of all sentient beings.
In the future, we will try to practice Troma together once a month or once a year, depending on everyone's circumstances and familiarity with the drum, bell, and melodies. In my heart, I have always wished to uphold and serve the lineage of Dudjom Lingpa, as transmitted through my root guru, H.H. Jigme Phuntsok. Although I am a very ordinary monk—not famous, with limited support, and limited ability—whatever I am able to do, I do with sincerity and honesty, solely for the benefit of beings.
